LANE TECH (CHICAGO, IL): The Lane Tech Boys Basketball team beat Mather High School 49-30 in the evening on Saturday, February 16. This was the Senior Night for the Lane Tech Boys Basketball team, as well as dancers, cheerleaders, majorettes, and managers. After a close loss against Maine East February 11th, the Lane Tech Indians brought home the win against Mather, originally having been scheduled to be Sullivan. Hononegah Community High School, Rockton, IL – Lane Tech Dance Team made history this Saturday, February 3th as their Hip-Hop Competition Team and Ella Gooding, performing as an soloist, qualified for state after a 7-year drought.     LTDT’s Hip-Hop, Poms, and Lyrical teams, as well as Ella Gooding, competed against dance teams all over the district at IDTA’s sectionals in hopes to qualify for state after a close call at their last competition. Lane Tech Boys Track Comes in 2nd at Proviso West Meet

Proviso West Quad 1- The Lane Tech Boys Track team placed second at the Proviso West Meet on February 1st. They ended with an overall score of 135.5, not far behind Oak Park River Forest, who came in first with a score of 163.5. Lane Tech did astounding, scoring higher than Proviso East, Whitney Young, Proviso West, and St. Rita. Juan Manaog led the team in the 55 meter dash, placing in 9th with a time of 6.93. UIC Forum, Chicago, IL– On Sunday, January 20th, the Lane Tech Cheerleading team continued their dominance at the City Championships. They won the competition with ease at UIC and received yet another championship for Lane Tech. This is the third consecutive City Championship the Lane Tech Cheer team has won. Lane Tech (Chicago, IL) – Lane Tech Girls Basketball put on a exceptional show Tuesday 1/22 at Lane Tech against Harlan High School. Lane took a 23-0 lead early in the game, and never looked back, winning the game 50-11. This was the teams first playoff game of the season and they showed no signs of later in the year fatigue. Heartland, Illinois– On Wednesday night, the Lane Tech Boys’ Hockey team was able to defeat Latin 2-1. It was an anticipated game for Lane as they were hoping for the series sweep since they beat Latin in their first match up. The game was close but the Indians managed to come out on top. Lane Tech Wrestling Wins Senior Night Meet

CHICAGO, IL – The Lane Tech Wrestling Team won their Senior Night meet on Friday, January 12th. Every Lane senior was victorious in their match. Senior Thomas West came out aggressive and pinned in his first period, securing him a win. Another senior, Nate Segura, was extremely powerful with his blast double and won his match. Santiago Matias worked with what he knows best, a roll through then pin his opponent. A top three finish at a Championship doesn’t just “happen” without effort, hours of dedication, and of course, execution. This is exactly the type of energy LTDT brought to Whitney Young High School this past Sunday for the City Championship meet. Chicago, IL –  At a 10:00 AM starting time on Saturday morning, the Lane Tech Boys Varsity Swimming competed in the City Relays Meet . The boys placed first out of all CPS schools at the meet which took place at Percy L., Julian High School. Lincolnwood, IL-  The Lane Tech Hockey Team performed phenomenally on Saturday afternoon versus Evanston Township High School. The team showed great skill and powered throughout the game, beating Evanston 5-1 at Heartland Rink. The team dominated Evanston the moment the puck dropped. Feinberg, Lane’s goalie, was sensational in goal and helped to lead the team to victory by only allowing one goal. Lane Tech Boys Bowling Takes On the City

Waveland Bowl, Chicago – On January 7th, the boys bowling team placed first in the city playoff competition. They bowled against 12 teams and 2 individuals, including Taft, Payton, Jones, Lincoln Park, Amundsen, and Schurz. The City Championship consisted of three games for each team. In game one, Lane played against Payton and won 947-813. In game two, the Lane bowlers faced Jones and won 794-788 in a nail-biting game. Finally, in game three, the boys faced Amundsen and won 935-728, making their series total 2,676.
